Tomorrow morning my alarm will chime earlier than usual. I'm not getting up for work, but rather rising before the sun for a full day of automotive elation. Tomorrow, I will be attending the New York International Auto Show during a media day. Think less people, more pictures.

It's been a week since the festivities of the Morris County St. Patrick's Day Parade have passed. The rains are gone, as is much of the snow that lined the route. It takes a lot to cancel an annual event whose future planning starts nearly the day after it ends. And such was the case with the 2015 parade. The rain, hard at times, was enough to drive most of the spectators into the bars and off of the streets. But still the beat went on.

If I were to describe the perfect morning to meet up, outside nonetheless, with a bunch of buddies and talk cars, or in my case photograph them, the ideal weather would be 60 degrees and slightly overcast.

I calculated the mileage. It would take a little over two hours to trek the 126 miles to Lime Rock Park. In order to arrive when I like to, before the action begins, departure would have to be around 5:30 a.m. Not a problem. The night before, I charged the camera batteries, formatted the memory cards, and packed the car with essential gear. I was ready to experience my first historic festival. Or so I thought.

What would you rather be doing on a typical Saturday morning? Savoring some extra sleep, recouping from a late night out with pals? Enjoying a nice breakfast while DVR surfing on your couch? If you're anything like me, you'd much rather get up arm in arm with the sun and head to whatever car show is circled on your calendar. In this instance, after retiring to bed just before 3 a.m., I cut my overnight nap short and headed north to Greenwich, CT's Miller Motorcars. Continuing the momentum from January's Ferrari Cinque event, where they organized five of the marque's most prominent supercars, Miller gathered three of McLaren's P1 hypercar to be put on display in their Greenwich showroom.
