It seems I've pictured myself into a corner. My tagline is "Where the Shutter Meets the Road." My business card describes me as an automotive photographer. And if you've seen my Facebook feed, you can see there is more than a lion's share of car pictures being posted.
Let's face it, I enjoy shooting all things automotive.
Who doesn't enjoy a good sunflower field with an assembly of stave silos watching over it?
However, I also enjoy going out and capturing other things that don't necessarily have four wheels or are manufactured by Volkswagen (or some other exotic make). But why don't I post these things?
When you have access to someone this adorable, it's easy to get carried away with people pictures.
Usually, if you're keen on my Facebook page (that is, you like every picture I share so the magical FB algorithm perceives that you want to see my content. Makes total sense...), you may catch a post or two that is far off the automotive path. That content is fun for me to share because it can highlight that I'm not just a one-trick photographic pony.
Conditions were far from ideal for this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Morristown, but it didn't stop the members of the Morris County Sheriff's Office from showing 110% dedication.
Need family photos done? I can do that. Have a show, or a parade, that you'd like covered? Yep, I'm capable of that, too.
Sometimes it's better to be down at their level.
How about more serene scenes? Sure, why not! To me, it's all about composition...looking at a subject and seeing it from an angle that is out of the norm. That is what I derive enjoyment from. I want to show you what I see, not what you see. Keep your eyes peeled on more diverse content in the upcoming months.
Sometimes I catch people at the pinnacle of their movements.
Anyway, this post is doubling as a quasi-PSA to let the people know that I am available for shoots that don't necessarily involve your car. For all interested parties, please email me at beardedmugmedia@gmail.com. Thanks! And I look forward to making memories with you.
